Omega-3 For Your Health

Omega-3 fatty acids are good fats.

Types of omega-3 fats help to improve the health of all the walls of our cells, they decrease the inflammation in our body, they reduce oxidation damage to our DNA and tissues, and overall decrease fatty plaque build up in our blood vessels.

If you take a medication to lower your cholesterol, being on Omega-3s further reduces your chances of heart disease, stroke, and heart attacks.

Generally we recommend consuming both DHA and EPA if you want the benefits of omega-3 use; but the recent study showed more benefit for EPA use than DHA.

If you also consume many unhealthy oils, you maybe counter acting some of the benefits of the omega-3 consumption.

We caution against the substitution of too much coconut oil, it’s health benefits have been greatly over exaggerated.
