First FDA Approved Medication to Treat Cellulite Now Available

QWO®, is a medication, injected into buttocks for treatment of cellulite. QWO® is the FDA’s first and only approved injectable for the treatment moderate to severe cellulite on the buttocks. Prior to QWO®.

Weight management, exercise, cosmetic coverage don’t treat dimpling of the skin due to thick collagen bands, also known as cellulite.

Skin tightening procedures can treat lax skin which might appear to be cellulite, but really aren’t.

Using radio frequency heat treatments and muscle building treatments can improve the areas that have cellulite, and can still be used in conjunction with the newly approved injection.

Treatments that destroy fat don’t actually address the the physiological reason for cellulite. QWO®, however, can fundamentally destroy disordered collagen and the structural issues this type of collagen causes. Thus this treatment, by our clinicians, can give an effective, long term solution. Cellulite’s dimples are caused by skin thinning, fat cells thus bubbling out from thin skin, and collagen thick and fibrous bands pulling around the fat to cause peaks and valleys in the tissues.

QWO® is made up of enzymes that dissolve collagen called collagenases. Once the old collagen is dissolved the bands are released, the fat cells are allowed to naturally relax into the area in a more even distribution. Collagen will regrow, in the healthy normal way it should.
