{"id":2372,"date":"2020-09-28T18:02:00","date_gmt":"2020-09-28T18:02:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.womenshealthpractice.com\/?p=2372"},"modified":"2020-09-27T18:09:15","modified_gmt":"2020-09-27T18:09:15","slug":"endometriosis-patients-have-small-increased-long-term-ovarian-cancer-risk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.womenshealthpractice.com\/?p=2372","title":{"rendered":"Endometriosis Patients Have Small Increased Long Term Ovarian Cancer Risk"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Several studies have showing women with endometriosis are at risk for endometrioid type and other types of ovarian cancer as they age.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A Dutch study looked at over 130,000 women with proven endometriosis and evaluated their long term risk of ovarian cancer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The average age of diagnosis of ovarian cancer was 56.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What was notable is that even as women aged into menopause, and no longer had specific symptoms of endometriosis their risk was increased. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s important to know there are strategies for reducing the long term risk of ovarian cancer.
