There is no real toxicity as excess is just excreted. <\/li><li>Food sources are egg yolk, liver, and soybean.\nBut the biotin in food is protein bound and gets released by an enzyme. <\/li><li>We can manufacture biotin in the small intestine\nfrom healthy gut bacteria, so the only source is not technically just from\nfood. <\/li><li>Biotin is an essential part of our metabolism of\ncarbohydrates, protein amino acids, and blood fats by being a cofactor.<\/li><li>Biotin is critical to much of our protein\nsynthesis as well as cell growth, which is why it\u2019s an important co-factor in\nhair and nail growth. <\/li><li>Biotin can actually cause lab test disorders,\nincluding thyroid testing abnormalities, so be sure to disclose to your MD if\nyou are taking this when interpreting tests. <\/li><\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It is a water soluble vitamin, and excreted in the urine.
