Risk Factors For Uterine Cancer

Cancer of the uterus is in may ways preventable. As we get older, risk will climb for all women, but there are conditions that can make you at risk at a younger age. If you have one of these risk factors, see your gynecologist early to help plan your prevention strategies:

  1. PCOS
  2. High Fat Diet, particularly if you are obese
  3. Inactivity
  4. Long estrogen exposure: early start to menstrual periods and later menopause
  5. Diabetes, insulin resistance, high sugar diet
  6. Estrogen supplements without a progesterone
  7. Tamoxifen
  8. History of endometrial lining tissue abnormalities such as hypereplasia
  9. History of breast or ovarian cancer
