Beyond Morning Jo, These Additives Give Brain Boost Too

Our Morning Jo does help us think and now a new company is trying to help us improve brain function with coffee or other drinks.

  6. Phosphatidylserine: This phospholipid is a major component of cell membranes, particularly in brain cells. Supplementation with phosphatidylserine has been shown to improve memory and cognitive function, particularly in older adults.
  7. Rhodiola Rosea: Also known as Arctic root or golden root, Rhodiola rosea is an adaptogenic herb that has been used traditionally to combat fatigue and enhance mental performance. Research suggests that it may improve attention, memory, and overall cognitive function, possibly through its effects on neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine.
  8. Curcumin: Found in the spice turmeric, curcumin has potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Some studies have suggested that curcumin supplementation may improve memory and cognitive function, possibly by reducing inflammation in the brain and promoting the growth of new brain cells.
