How Your Genetics Determines The Age of Your Menopause
The North American Menopause Society (NAMS). “Genetics play strong role in determining age of menopause and overall longevity: Study focuses on identifying new variants associated with delayed age of menopause.” ScienceDaily. That being said most women will enter menopause around age 51.
This is true regardless of ethnicity, country of origin or diet.
Smoking can induce early menopause, of course so can ovarian removal, neither of which is genetically determined per se.
Premature menopause is more genetically linked than age of natural menopasue.
If you have a family history of premature menopause perhaps you should consider banking your eggs if you have not had children by your early 30s.
