Hormone Optimizaitonmenopause

HT/HRT/MHT ?

Hormone therapy (HT) has been broken down into initials that more accurately reflect what you are taking.

For women prior to the natural age of menopause it is HRT: Hormone replacement therapy.

For women after the natural age of menopause we have taken to calling this HT for hormone therapy, or MHT for menopausal hormone therapy.

Some physicians go with ET and EPT for Estrogen therapy or Estrogen and Progesterone therapy.

At the end of the day, these distinctions are probably more useful for researchers, and you can just discuss the down low (DL) details on what aspects of the risks and benefits and options are most important for your specific case!
