Endometriosis

Fatigue, Bowel and Bladder Dysfunction and Depression MIGHT be Endometriosis

Gynecologists and their clients have focused on the implants of endometriosis in the pelvis, but this is now thought to not be the most important part of endometriosis as a condition.

Like other serious health issues it’s generalized inflammation that causes the most harm to women.

Inflammation of endometriosis can cause bowel issues, bladder dysfunction, anxiety, depression, or fatigue.

It is thought that the implants of endometriosis may cause distant spread through the body to cause these outcomes.

Dr. Taylor from Yale thinks this consequence of inflammation is what explains why women with Stage I disease can have the same amount of pain and illness as women with Stage 4 disease.

In a mouse research studies they show that the presence of endometriosis can cause actual changes in the electrophysiology of the brain! This could explain why women with endometriosis have more anxiety!

Any solution that ignores inflammation will ultimately be doomed to only partial success.

Come for a consultation to consider how you could lower inflammation. Yoga anyone? I teach Thursdays at Hatha.
