New Estrogen is Benefit of Newest Oral Contraceptive Pill

Although much research in hormonal health has been done, we just approved the first new estrogen in over 50 years!

The newest estrogen in the new contraceptive Nextstellis is Estetrol or what we call “E4”. Most hormonal contraceptive pills contain Estradiol or “E2”.

E4 is the type of estrogen our body produces during pregnancy.

The new pill is effective against pregnancy, it controls menstrual cycles well, it is well tolerated and has the safety profile of other oral contraceptives on the market.

The new pill was very favorable in terms of metabolism with minimal affects of blood sugars and blood fats and was very weight neutral in most women.
