Simple Heart Healthy Strategies No One Should Skip

How healthy your heart is seems to be a question on everyone’s mind during Heart Health Month. And these questions will determine much about your health going forward, even your likelihood of developing dementia and keeping your libido mojo! The American Heart association has developed Life’s Simple 7 metric to determine your score, and everyone should know their own number. No matter what your score is, it’s never too late to improve it! At WHP Health we’d like to discuss how to help. Here are the simple steps that were followed in the long term studies in the August 2018 issue of JAMA published that lowered long term disease risk:

1. Maintain healthy weight

2. Keep cholesterol low

3. Keep fasting blood sugar levels low

4. Keep glucose-insulin levels low

5. Keep low blood pressure

6. Do not smoke

7. Eat healthy

8. Be physically active
