Sex is One of the Best Brain Games to Improve Your Mind

Can you think yourself male or female? Estrogen’s brain modulating properties begins in fetal life, but continues after birth to some extent, so it is intriguing to think that perhaps you can think yourself female! We think testosterone has some modulating properties in fetal life as well, but all the new research is focusing just a bit later in life!

1. More sex, better brain power, especially over age 50 hints study of sexuality author Hayley Wright, a researcher in cognitive aging at the Centre for Research in Psychology, Behavior and Achievement at Coventry University in England. Women and men over the age of 50 who are more sexually active also have better memory of all sorts and better cognitive skills than people who get busy less often, a new study from England suggests. Now it is thought this could be either due more to better hormones than to more sex.

2. Men get more brain boost from sex than women do! Sex appeared to give men’s brains a bigger boost than women’s in the following way: Men who were more sexually active showed higher scores on tests of memory skills and executive function — the mental processes involved in planning, solving problems and paying attention — whereas women who were more sexually active saw only a higher score in their memory skills, according to the findings, published online in the journal Age and Ageing.

3. The study re than 6,800 men and women ages 50 to 89 in England who were participating in a long-term study on aging. So stay sexy as you age and there will be lots of benefit!

4. This study attempted to look at how sexually active men and women scored on thinking and processing tests to sort out some differences in how male and female brains age. There were differences. Both sexes, if they kept sexually active scored higher on the word-recall and number-sequencing tasks. Men seemed to have more benefit on what is called executive function, and women have more memory benefit.

Planning brain games? Maybe you should include some sex!
